One of my greatest accomplishments to date I think. Modeled after one of the many lion vs. mouse Aesop's Fables. Sold at FC '06

He doesn't get eaten btw =)

I think if you have good older work, there's nothing wrong with featuring it. Some of my best work is older simply because there was a large block of time where I just couldn't work on art due to one thing or another. I highly doubt you'd get "penalized." :p

this is just gorgeous, the muscles control on the tip of the lions tongue is incredibly well drawn, the lions mane/mane fluff is fantastic (around the ears and such) and i love the mouse's subtle expression, gorgeous peice, the coloring is so smooth and clean...great work
not to mention the lighting is fantastic =]

This is wonderful.

I am always impressed with wc & color pencil art; this is a tremendous amount of work.

The scene also reminds me of the opening scene with Scar in The Lion King; where he's about to eat a mouse, and commenting how, "Life's not fare, is it?".

I had to get an account, just so I could tell you how incredible this is.

So, so gorgeous. I love all the texturing of the pencil in the fur and the granulations and little spatters in the background! I'm guess the acrylic was just for the whiskers and any lost highlights? Amazing...really amazing!

You're my first fave!

Yaaay thank you so much thats very sweet of you :)

And yes the acrylic was juts for minor touch ups like the highlights on the whiskers. its mostly just watercolor/colored pencil. the watercolor was used to block in the main colors only. Whole lotta pencil rendering!
